Matthew 14: 22-33
Holy Creator and Redeemer, Spirit of Holiness,
When you come to us, do we cry in fear saying, “it is a ghost!”?
Even worse, do we deny your presence preferring to take the credit?
Can we grasp your outstretched hand in the middle of our storms?
Or do we sink and disappear when you call us to work?
Lord, we believe, help our unbelief.
Remind us that our mustard seed of faith will grow if we are open to your nurture.
Remind us that we are not alone in this boat.
Help us to strengthen our fellow passengers so that we all can embrace the outcast, the addict, and the ill. Help us to work together to be your people in an ailing world.
Strength for us all, lead us into the miracle of your joy so that we can walk with you, proclaim you, and be your helpmates to the world. Amen.
